Seeking advice. Taking my daughter to NYC tomorrow for a day trip. I know the best places are not the tourist traps right by all the action but would love to get some ideas for pizza places that are the best and within walking distance from times square.

what kind of pizza? You want coal, gas, neapolitan, OG NYC?

During my previous research on this topic, don antonio nyc is 6 minutes away.

For OG NYC, not gonna lie, I really loved dollar pizza. It's a fucking dollar.

But for a more real NYC slice, Sacco's comes fairly recommended. I wasn't blown away the first time I had it, but the second time I came back I understood that it was simply a quintessential NY slice.

for the coal stuff, I went across the bridge to Juliana's

I wouldn't trust $1 a slice Pizza in NYC. A bottle of water there costs $3.

It's about $1.50 with pepperoni and mushrooms. It's packed all day/night, so turnover is out of control.

But at the end of the day, it's a fucking dollar. It's like going to the Costco food court - you know it's not going to be the best, but it's still so satisfying and cheap. I would go in and buy a slice of pizza before heading to my next place to eat.

shouldn't be hard, it's full of taxies there that can take you to La Guardia airport from where you can catch a flight to italy.

I like DiFara on Ave J in Brooklyn. Dude is from Italy and like 85 years old still making pizza. But not near Times Square for the OP.

to be honest, i've had some NYC pizza in NYC that i liked for what it was. nothing wrong with US style pizza, as long as it's not deep dish. but, having not been in NYC in 20 years, i really wouldn't know.

if someone asked me where to go for food in NYC, i'd still say Katz's Deli.

I'll never understand sending someone so far out of the way for what amounts to top tier pastrami on supermarket rye.

If I'm in NYC I'd rather go seek out one of the slammin' ramen joints than get a pizza anytime

I just realized I lived in Manhattan for a year and I didn't even bother too much with all the famous joints in NYC. I like pizza, but not insane about it. I was bz always gettin' hammered in K-town with some good ass K-food (best in the whole east coast, at least in such density. DC area or NOVA )
