NYC anthrax letter was addressed to Tom Brokaw!

That would have been a shame if Tom had been killed. I honestly believe Tom Brokaw is one of the best people on TV. He's a real stand up guy.

Every time he's on Letterman or other talk shows, he seems very down to earth and thankful to be where he is.

EDIT: That's not to say the guy that dies from Anthrax wasn't a shame, either.

I don't think it was a letter bomb. Plus do you think a person that makes over 2 mil a year even touches mail? Probably only after its passes through a few hands first.

Well, it would be quite a statement for whoever carried it out.

As you may or may not know, NBC is the number 1 news source around the world. Or, at least that is what their slogan says every night.

I am sure he was targetted just the same as Rathers, or any of the big time anchors would have been, this would have been a major demoralizer for the US if one of the people with the most TV time died, the message would have been something like: "Hey he was on TV all the time, he was important and he was killed, crap I could be next"



I am glad he is ok, and I hope the person that did get infected will be alright too.

STOP posting as if it has been confirmed this was an "anthrax letter". The news has reported a "suspicious" letter that contained powdery residue. There have now been at least 5 of these separate 'powdery residue' letters reported, and not a single one has tested positive for anthrax - they have ALL been false alarms.

For all we know, a few guys are walking around those make-up compacts filled with anthrax spores and have been 'dusting' door handles. STOP leaping to your own uninformed conclusions, then passing them off as if they were fact.

Next clue, in case someone still needs it:
He probably isn't the only news anchor to recieve this sort of letter.
Look for more cases, unfortunately.
