What's the difference between criminal and noncriminal traffic violation in NY? My question is, are moving violations criminal, and nonmoving violations noncriminal?

Criminal? Moving violations add points to your license. I had 4 tickets in the past year, 2 parking and 2 moving. I didn't get criminally prosecuted, I just had to pay up the ass.

Nice job, yo! I'm 47 and have been driving since age 16. I just got my second moving ticket of my entire driving career. Went to traffic school so I still have zero points. :)

If you have an out of state plate the cops really lay into giving you tickets. My moving violations were 'blocking an intersection' and 'left of center.' Complete bullsh!t, I was going with the flow of traffic. He just didn't care, had to meet quota.

The quota thing has been debunked a zillion times. It's an urban legend. :p
