As much as I disagree with the idea of the general populace owning firearms without exceptional and good reasons (not what I'm wanting to discuss as I've taken part in enough gun control threads here already, and frankly we're never going to see eye-to-eye), I can't think of a good reason someone could have for leaking this list.

It reminds me of the News of the World leaking a list of known paedophiles (note that I am not comparing paedos to gun owners, just 'list leak' stories), in the UK, then mobs went around dispensing their idea of justice, and because some people are exceptionally dim, some paediatricians got attacked.

Here is the original thread about this story. The news today is that the paper has apparently capitulated to the public outcry and replaced their interactive features with a static map.

I don't see how this relates to the pedophiles case at all. I doubt a bunch of anti-gun freaks are gonna go breaking into some gun nut's job house to dispense their "justice".

The only similarity I see is a list got leaked.

Leaked? The paper file a FOIA request with the county.
