Alot of people wanted Rudy Jaramillo. People can't get over the fact that Willie is a lifelong Yankee. I think that's ridiculous, and I believe he will make a good manager.

Willie Randolph will be named the Mets' 18th manager today. Of the previous 17, only four compiled a winning record.

Bobby V. is 1 of 4 Mets managers to have a winning record. Sure he was controversial, but I loved every minute of it, even his goof moustache/glasses bit after being thrown out of the game.

Finally retired. He was still on the books for the Mets last year though.

He's playing for Bobby V in Japan. I digged Benny and was very productive but he made a critical error in predicting that the Mets would win the subway series in 5 games on the Regis & Kathie Lee show. Of course us Mets fans knew what happened.

The more I think about it the more I find it amazing that the 2000 Mets got to the World Series. As was pointed out before the outfield consisted of Benny Agbayani, Timo Perez and Jay Payton. The shortstop was Mike Bordick who was over the hill and didn't hit squat. They did have some good pitching but they totally overachieved. Why?? Cause Bobby V is a brilliant baseball manager.

I have no problem with Randolph as manager. Yea yea.. he was a Yankee ..who cares! I care about if the team will get a REAL first baseman (no platoon of Piazza, Valent, Phillips..etc), a good outfielder, bullpen help, a setup man for Looper..etc. I wish Randolph well cause it'll be awhile before the Mets become contenders.

I'm tired of hearing those two fools on WFAN (Russo and Francessa).

Actually, from what I just read, the rumors are of Tino coming to the Yankees, again, to back up at first.
