It's funny, virtually everyone associated with Trump and his campaign seems to commit major crimes. It's as if Trump was completely disingenuous about wanting to "drain the swamp."

I didn’t see when the transactions Collins is accused of occurred but this one for Price was April of last year.

Collins was in late Jun 2017. I just watched the NY prosecutor outline the case against him and it seems pretty airtight. Of course I thought that about OJ.

They said that on Jun 22, he was at a picnic and received an email from the CEO? of the drug company saying that the drug in trials was a failure. He responded to the email and then started calling his son.

By 6 minutes later he had tried to call his son 6 times, connecting on the last call.

Within 2 hrs his son and son's fiancee drove to her parents house.

That evening the fiancee's mother or fiancee I don't remember which started procedures to sell shares.

The next morning the other one sold as well as son.

Fiancee's parents told some other family members/friends and they all sold (one tried but was unable to).

Jun 26 the info is made public and stock tanks, losing 92% of its value.

Losses avoided by the group came to about $750,000.

Collins couldn't sell his own shares because they were registered in Australia and were frozen?

That is how I remember the timeline, but my memory may be faulty. I haven't seen it online yet, but I have no doubt it will be up soon.

I love his lawyers' non-denial:

"It is notable that even the government does not allege that Congressman Collins traded a single share of Innate Therapeutics stock. We are confident he will be completely vindicated and exonerated."

... just his son, friends, friends of friends. But not him, so it's A-OK!

Guys I'm sure these charges are false. I read the news and he called them a left-wing political witch hunt. I'm sure he's 100% trustworthy and correct, so I fail to see a story here.

Chris Collins was the first Congressman to endorse Donald Trump. Should have known he was a crook too.

it's obviously not insider trading if someone is outside the company! /s

Dems need to plagiarize Trump's slogan of "drain the swamp". On the premise his is brand new and twice the size of the old swamp.

Hell, Scott Pruitt alone was almost the size of the old swamp.

a Dem congressman was on CNN today in regards to this story and he repeatedly said "drain the swamp" and that it was one of the major issues electing Dems to congress would solve.

I saw someone mention this on Twitter and you have to in some ways feel sorry for Collins. Trump is sitting in the White House merrily allowing people at Mar a Lago and the DC Trump hotel to openly bribe him. Jared Kushner is using his White House contacts to help his collapsing real estate company. Wilbur Ross is scamming people left and right. If you're Collins you have to wonder why you're the one they ended up arresting, haha.

And, if you're Collins you might be banking on an executive pardon if things go really south.

I don't know. This is NY after all and Trump knows just how the majority feel about him. Besides I'm sure there's a lot of state charges that can be brought since this is an election year for Cuomo.

Dear god these people are full blown fucking stupid. You do... realize... that when you're family the chances of being caught increase 10 billion-fold, right?
