What did they change it to?

Last time I listened to NY music radio was WPLJ with ...sorry my mistake... i forget which station Scott Munie was on at the time...

but WPLJ had Jim Kerr, Pat St. John, Jimmy Fink, Pat St. John, Carol Miller, JJ Kennedy, Joey Scott Shannon...

and what station did donna faducia do the traffic for?

:)

i guess they dont play as much new stuff and reverted to playing a lot more from the early 90's and 80's too. if u r in nj, check out 106.3. the dj's (meaning on air personalities) kinda suck, but i like their variety of music.

updated my post above...

i really dont listen to music radio much anymore... cant deal with it being so damn commericalized... or the commericals... or the personalities. Plus... hahaha... I dont think much good music has come out on a long time (I am kinda old, so rap, techno, etc does not do it for me).. and the stuff I think is good, I already own... plus I get free music thru my satellite teevee.

but... I will check out 106.3
they had an AWESOME rock station when I was last in Nashville, TN. If we could get one like that here... I might just start listening on a regular basis.

:)

edit: I am in Lyndhurst, NJ... about 20 minutes from J.C.

Anyway, I don't listen to them, since they play a lot of RIAA-manufactured teeny pop rock like linkin park and system of a down and such - but I might have to give them another shot if they're actually playing some good music now.

When I heard about the format change, I was somewhat into it. With all the linkin park & eminem they've been playing over the years, it didn't even sound like a rock station anymore. This change to an older generation though, is too much. 30-40% of all the old stuff they play is only Metallica or Ozzy, with a hint of GnR. Probably because that's all those 80s stoners can remember when they call to request something. At least they kept some current music, for whatever it's worth.

it's alright. it's caused me to listen to Seaton Hall radio a lot more, though.

krock2 is pretty swank; too bad it's internet-only.

edit: I like 106.3, but I can only get reception for it on this one block in Newark and in South Jersey.
