As seems usual lately, Dems voted early while Repubs waited for election day. Snow today depressed turnout, virtually assuring a Democratic win.

This is one factor amongst a few contributing to his big margin.

He actually campaigned, voters know who he is, Dems outspent the Reps, he had help from other popular Dem pols, and he effectively flipped the script on Republicans on the border.

There was a CNN clip where one of their people related talking to early voters who flipped for him over the implosion of the border deal because they were actually paying attention and expected the Republicans to actually do something and they did not. When Trumpist political strategy meets informed voters the results are usually not great.

That and frankly it was always going to be an uphill battle for the Republican there considering the last Republican elected there turned out to be a huge criminal.

GOP replacement candidate also sucked. Candidate quality is actually important, exhibit one million.

Well she correctly identified their vulnerability but the recommendation to run harder on the anti-abortion issue is lol.

Maybe there will be some renewed interest inside Congress amongst Rs to actually do something if the Rs get scared enough this is working.

Is she some secret Democratic plant? Running harder on anti-abortion credentials is a great way to suffer yet another blowout.

Not sure why any Republican strategists that have been working for the last 8 years have a job. Yes, Trump won in 2016 through a quirk in the electoral college. Every single election cycle since then has been defeat after defeat though. Whatever they are doing isn't working.

Nobody should ever feel bad about getting paid to do what they think is too little work because these people are making bank dispensing the worst most bubbled advice available that has produced terrible results.

If the GQP candidate only got the Boomer endorsement, they would have gotten more boomer voters to show up and vote.
They probably should have used Boomer, as he lives in the district, Sean Hannity used to live there before he moved to Florida and Victoria Gotti Jr. lives there too.

Suozzi is well known there, he is a moderate Italian American Roman Catholic Democrat.......

No biggie.

I dunno how persuasive this is going to be to NY Rs who are running in Biden districts and will face a new map.

He also identifies a potential winning strategy for the Ds on the border issue which he hand delivered to them by refusing the deal per Trump's demand.

Also, he doesn't sound like a Republican on the border because the Republican position on the border is 'do nothing'.

GOP has been on a loosing streak since overturning Roe. I hope it carries into Nov.

I hope it carries on until after the end of America (which is what Republicans will try to make happen if they keep losing, hopefully they lose that as well, as all fascist pieces of shit should).

Sounds like God is getting into politics. Let's see how long before Republicans turn on Him.

Long Island is swing suburban territory. Period.

Long Island is home to a lot of conservative-leaning cops and firefighters, and they tend to vote Republican and they tend to want NYC politicians to respect their service, etc.

But a lot of college educated and blue collar people live there.........they are pro-choice, etc. Even some Republicans there are pro-choice.

Long Island is home to a lot of conservative cops? As opposed to everywhere else? Other places don't have cops? Or they do and their cops just aren't as conservative? Does LI have a higher number of cops per capita than anywhere else?

Very much so. Most cops don't live in the City as they view it as a jungle. They move to the affluent suburbs.

And the district is unique.. about 20% jewish, 20% asian, 40% white population.
