Had a new build not to long ago:

SYSTEM:
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775
MSI NX8800GTS 512M OC GeForce 8800GTS
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX ATX12V V2.2 550W Power Supply - Retail

and im running into application problems. When i very first installed the drivers for the gfxcard, i got a warning message saying that the drivers might conflict with windows. Well, fucking the geek that i am i play a little World of Warcraft, and i get fetal errors which close the program.

Ive reinstalled wow on different drivers, i reformatted my computer. I dont kno what could possible be causing this asides from the confliction of programs.

any suggestions? any similar problems? I dont think i need to go to vista. Could it possible be something else?

Im fairly certain is client side, pretty darn sure im now downloading corrupted patches for the game.

SO PLEASE

I love you all but id love u even more if u could hook it up

thanks

Did you grab the latest drivers from the nvidia site? If you didnt and used the disk you get a few month old distribution. Check device manager and make sure everything looks kosher. If you payed someone to build the system for you then call them for tech support. Lastly make sure the power plug on the graphics card is plugged in, it may have come loose in transport if you had it shipped.

If its not hardware use drivercleanerpro and remove all instances of nvidia drivers and reinstall the latest wql. not the one on the disk. What case are you using, the crashes may be unrelated to your initial driver issues and may just be overheating.

BTW I assumed you were using XP, if your using W2k then that may be an issue. I had a person call me recently asking for help with gaming problems on windows 98.

Hey thanks for the reply

Well to be honest i am using the drivers that came on the discs, i will update all my drivers. Im fairly certain the graphics card driver is from MSI, at least the cd cover was filled with MSI logos. Yeah im usking XP and no its not overheating. Running at 30c on the cpu and about 45c on the mobo.

In terms fo case im using a coolermaster spartan i believe its called. Im really acually kind of upset with the whole issue. Ill double check device manager for what its worth thanks for the suggestions.

all and any help is great. thanks

ya thanks man, i downloaded and installed them but still no luck. I was thinking maybe it could have been a harddrive problem so i installed wow on a EXTERNAL hard drive and it still crashed.

Im fucking fuming atm, sooo frusterating. I dont see how it would affect a applications stability, but any chance its the processor?
