nVidia's next ?

Just out of curiosity, I'd like to know what is nVidia going to do next.

Are they going to release G80 ? Or perhaps an "upgraded" version of their existing high-end GeForce 7 series ?

And when should we expect news about their next products ?

All I've read so far about nVidia's G80 are three points: It will have a unified shader architecture, should support Longhorn's WGF 2.0, and is supposed to have a 1 Ghz+ Core.

Is there other information I missed ?

Thanks.

dude...the 7600gt isn't even out. at the rate nvidia and ati are going the 8800 won't be out for at least 6 months...

They've already said that the G72 is built on the 90nm process. GeForce 8 series won't be out for a while. 😉

Geforce 6 is doing me fine right now. No regrets there, fast card.. full shader model 3 support.

Passing on GF7. Waiting on Geforce 8.. unified shaders done right.

Midrange GeForce 7 cards (7600s), respins of the 7800s on 90nm and with 512MB.

Nvidia doesn't need to release anything new right now. Their current cards fight off ATi just fine, and they have market availability and price advantage. I guarantee you NV is all smiles right now.

I still wanna see a 512MB GTX with some faster RAM and a little more clockspeed and see Nvidia retake the performance crown. Icing on the cake.

I think my next video card is going to be a 7800GT, I hope the price falls to $300 or less by christmas.

I heard the Geforce 8 would be 4 times more powerful than the 6800 Ultra. I really wonder what this will mean for the performance of UT2007. It's likely that the game will use the GPU more than UT2004. So...?

funny how nvidia was saying unified shaers were crap 🙁 in march at e3 . well anyways ATI will be ready for R600 since they have done all the hardword : h264 , 90nm , unified shader on(xbox 360 gpu ) , 512bits ring bus and so ;(
