I don't think my wife would be too happy if I followed your first suggestion. And I'm already set with the other.

if you have this much time to spend concerning yourself with the aeg then i'm going to have to call shens.
You just aren't doing it right or are picking women that are too high maintenance. ;P

See you guys in divorce court in a few then. ;)

Not likely. I married a BA (business analyst for those who are mock IT).

I think it's slowed down a fair bit, so we might not reach 100 pages. Must be all the creative flames/trolls have been used up...

I think they're waiting for Video to become a bit calmer so they can do their job without much trouble.

You can call whatever you like, but we celebrated our 10th anniversary approximately 6 months ago and we're both working professionals. I've been at my present Engineering position for 15 years now.

I see you have 4400+ posts since 2000 while I'm at a meager 2700+ since 1999. So what does that say about YOU? ;)

That he has found a hobby?

Yes, and so have I. I simply found it humorous that he doesn't believe that I can be happily married with a good job and still have "this much time to spend concerning yourself with the aeg" when he has been registered a shorter amount of time than me but has a substantially higher post count.

I don't see 2700 posts in 5 1/2 years as being THAT outrageous.

In your case, that's 2699 posts too many. ;)

Ban him cuz he's a jerk, who doesnt give a crap about anyone else in the community except himself.

He's done more damage here than he has helped. Simple as that.

Yes because Mr. 304 posts knows all

Here are some pointers:
[*]What the hell is "cuz". Learn to spell and type.
[*]I believe we already established that it was wrong to lie, however, as i proved, Rollo is, in reality, a very nice person.
[*]Be specific. What damage do you speak of. I certainly see a perfectly functional forum. Hell, i see the greatest computer enthusiast forum in the world. Now, what has Rollo done in your eyes. Remember be specific.

He's been around here far longer than you. Just because some of us don't have a high ppd doesn't mean we're not aware of the sh1t hole some of you guys (not you specifically) have turned Video into. It hasn't always been this way.

As for your comments about how the forum has "changed", how can you comment when you joined in 2003? Were you lurking in 2001? This place was *different* in 2001, let me tell you. No flame wars, and plenty of industry insiders. Posting here was fun, and I can honestly tell you that I learned more in my first year here than in the following 4+ combined.

No i was here. I joined in '99, but i was 11 at the time, and made and account and forgot the password. Years later (like 4 lol) my Uncle recommended this site to me and i made another accout under IIRC Xplaya91. I then changed it to Gamingphreek. I remember, vaguely, but i remember. I had been building computers since i was ~7 years old. But i can honestly say that this forum is the reason i know all about the design, and architecture, and what not. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to come in here and learn and share so much. I cant begin to say how much i have learned in these forums.

Let it be, Kevin. Totally not worth it. This thread has become the cess pool of video, and if we're lucky, it'll go away soon (not because of what the original contents are, but because of what it's become). It's a festering wound that people are using to infect the whole lot of us with.

So did AT decided what to do AEG and its shills yet?

Appending an AEG logo or disclosure in the sig would be one of the most obvious things to do.

Rollo an AEG plant? Color me surprised! ;) I only hope that AT will make the necessary changes to keep this sort of pollution to a minimum.

The argument that AEG is not forcing folks to post anything more than their opinions is flawed. While they might not state that you must say "X", there's little need of someone who doesn't say it. Why would nVidia pay a marketing firm, and in turn have the marketing firm hand out "test supplies" if the person receiving the items chooses to tout an ATi card?

Anyway, I'm glad I caught this thread. Hopefully it'll be a wake-up for those who might be easily swayed by the ranting of fanboys and shills.

The same reason Colgate ships Toothbrushes and Toothpastes to millions of people for free. Not only to help convince you to use their product but also in hopes that you will turn around and tell others.

Every comapny thinks that their product is the best. Why be in this business you didn't think so. So what they do is instead of handing out housands or millions of freebees, they hand out a couple hundred may be at the low end of a thousand. Costs just as much as those free samples. They use AEG to figure out who good posters that people listen to are, and give them these freebies. They already think their stuff is the greatest, they know that these posters like to post and people listen to them. At this point they should easily step away and let nature do its course. Of course these guy are going to be pro-nvidia since they just got their high end cards for free.

Its not as evil natured as you think.

Y'see, I don't agree at all with the above statement. Or moreover, I'm not ok with it being a part of a enthusiast/community website. It's just something that we'll have to agree to disagree on.

The thing I don't get is that AEG picked people who were already pro NV and already ussually posted pro NV stuff. Now these guys just ended up getting a couple highier end cards than they might normally purchase on thier own. I don't really see the problem here. The people weren't ever converted to post just pro NV stuff they already did on thier own so whats the big deal?

When you actually get free items which is the same as getting paid to post people generally fail to recoginize the full spectrum. The card they have is the best and only the best and do not see the benefits of the other company or rival. This effects forums because many people ask for compares or opinions and go out to a store and "buy" because of these posters.

If you cannot conclude what I just said well then you are well not smart. Also by saying well the person deserves it because they did not look at reviews or what have you, well then you unless 100% able to disect a item on the market maybe not in the PC market and get handled by some seller who tells you this item is the best and because they get a commission or benefit of selling it well then that sucks now doesnt it?

Is it OK to lie in order to make your sponsor happy? Is it OK to go bad-mouth competition at every single chance? This was done by Rollo, member of AEG focus group. AEG represents NV. NV gets bad name.
One simple question. If it's not so bad then why AEG and NV hid it?

Not too many people I know are going to defend Colgate to the death simply because they received a free toothbrush (or to keep receiving free toothbrushes). Neither are they likely scour the internet finding and posting every single tiny thing wrong with Crest, its product line or members of its administration. The incentive just isn't there. But when you start talking about free SLI setups and 512mb 7800GTX's, now that's another story.
