Nvidia Versus ATI

What's the deal?

Is ATI so far behind that they cannot catch up? How do they make the bulk of their money?

For notebooks I know Nvidia dominates. Anything coming out from ATI?
What about desktops? I take it Nvidia dominates too

Actually, they arent making money. AMD fubared ATI when they bought them. I hope they make a comeback. We need competition to ensure decent product.

ATI will be fine sounds like their new top range card is better than the 8800 gtx.
theirs too many moronic fanboys for either companys to go under.
Mind they said the same thing about 3dfx

They just need to get their drivers in order. It seems more and more its a driver issue that is hindering performance. This problem shows up especially when you have AA turned on, possibly memory management within the drivers.

ATI's laptop chips are quite good btw.
