Nvidia Vanta problems?

I just installed an 8 meg Vanta in a system (don't laugh) my problem is that it now has "lines" running across the screen in all different directions, I don't know what else to call them, it looks kinda like the monitor needs degaussing or the refresh rate is off, I have tried everything, I am using the 3.53 Detonators as I have seen recommended, and it isn't a problem with the monitor since it worked fine with before this card. Any suggetsion?

hmm, that's odd, but i can suggest something, don't know if it'll work. The video card you previously had in there might have had a higher refresh rate set in windows... (does this occur ONLY in windows or while booting through DOS too?) If it's only in windows, then goto Display Properties, Advanced, and set the refresh rate a little lower, try something like 60 hz or 65 hz at a resolution of 640x480, if that fixes your problem then bump up the res to where it was and tinker with the refresh rate, good luck

Don't know if it happens when running in DOS because it is only really visual when against a light background like a white desktop or a blank Word document. The strange thing I didn't post earlier is when you open display properties it straightens out, when you apply another refresh rate or do something to the display settings and click apply it comes back, and I have tried about all the refresh rates and such all to no avail.

Did you completely remove your old video drivers before installing your Vanta?

Yes I uninstalled the devices in both OS's before I rebooted with the new card. I can't figure this one out.

Uninstalling the devices in Device Mangler is not the same as completely "flushing" the old drivers.
Flushing involves editing the registry as well as the \system\inf directory in Windoze.

I got it, after uninstalling the drivers I physically removed the card and rebooted with an old ATI card installed then I removed it and installed the Vanta again with new drivers. Works good now, this is not a bad card for $20 just a few 3dmark points lower than my old Voodoo2 SLI setup/
