Nvidia tv-out paning problem

I have a Leadtek GF 6600GT PCI-E. I have a problem with my tv-out that is connected to my tv (a 28" widescreen). No matter which resolution I set it at, I can never see the entire desktop on my tv. When I move the mouse around, the viewport (on the tv) just pans if the cursor reaches a corner (as seen on the tv). This makes the tv-out unusable for eg. Windows Media Center Edition, as I can't see the entire Media Center on my tv. It's no problem when watching movies because I can then just enable full-screen video on secondary display. But with anything else, it's a huge problem.

I had this problem. There are options in the advanced display settings to tweak the size of the screen.

Do you remember which settings ? I can only find;

"nView Display Settings" > "Device Adjustments" and then the "Screen positioning" thing. That only changes the size of the picture on the tv, it doesn't affect the panning.

I'm not sure where it is... I remember it took me some time to find it though. I think I even posted the same question here, but I can't find the thread now.

I'll have a look at my setup, brb.

/edit: OK, there's someone playing emulated super mario brothers on the TV, I'l check for you later.

You're right, the only other thing I could find was the 'device adjustments' thing. I think you must be outputting the wrong resolution, that's all I can think of... I remember I tried a few different drivers when I set this up, and also messed with the settings on the TV itself.

Changing the resolution does only make the things bigger on the tv. The panning-problem is unaffected. I just can't understand that it just doesn't work. I mean... many computers shipping with Media Center Edition is running Nvidia bassed cards, so there must be some sort of solution. I've had this same problem with all the Nvidia cards I've set up (MX440, TI4200, and 2 6600GT). I think i'm just going to buy all ATI from now on. Never had any problems with those 🙂

Thanks for your help though !!

Hey... Atheus. I was wondering. Which display mode do you use ?

Clone
Horizontal span
Vertical span
Dualview

Or something else ?

I found a solution (to those googling to this page. I change my resolution for my TFT-monitor from 1280*1024 to 1024*768, and then I could see the whole screen on my tv. It lookes like crap on monitor though. Think i'm going to buy an ATI instead 🙂
