NvIdia Tech demos ONLY works in Nvidia cards? (and viceversa)

Yes, and no.

There is a patch available for the ATI Radeon 9500 and up that will allow you to play the nVidia Dawn demo.

It depends on what API is used.

Both nVidia and ATI have proprietary OpenGL extensions.

Some can be emulated, some cannot.

I really like Tech demos, thats why I´m going for a DX9 card... believe or not.

I really like Tech demos, thats why I´m going for a DX9 card... believe or not.

Tech demo's and 3Dmark03 are currently the only 2 uses for a DX9 card. At least your not fooling yourself :)

Not that there is anything wrong with it. I just considered buying a cheap 9500 just so I could see the Dawn demo.
