NvIdia Tech demos ONLY works in Nvidia cards? (and viceversa)

That´s the question... does NvIdia or Ati tech demos only work on their cards?

Yes, and no.

There is a patch available for the ATI Radeon 9500 and up that will allow you to play the nVidia Dawn demo.

It depends on what API is used.

Both nVidia and ATI have proprietary OpenGL extensions.

Some can be emulated, some cannot.

ATi's DX9 cards can run nV's Dawn demo (Rage3D posted an article on this), and nV's cards can run ATi's DX9 demos. Understandably, neither runs the other's demos perfectly.

Pah, just because nVidia can't run the ATi demo's properly. Gotta remember the ATi card runs dawn faster than nVidia .

Tech demo's and 3Dmark03 are currently the only 2 uses for a DX9 card. At least your not fooling yourself

Not that there is anything wrong with it. I just considered buying a cheap 9500 just so I could see the Dawn demo.
