For those of you who do not visit the Motherboards Forum, the NVidia System Utility V1.0 is out! Follow that link to the d/l page and details. I'll try it tonight when I get home from work. :)

Now if only they'd (NV) get off their as$es and release the next driver package.

This is a utility for nForce-based motherboards Finnkc not NV video cards. It shouldn't matter what video card you are running...

Biostar M7NCG
Epox EP-8RDA+
Epox EP-8RDA3+
ABIT NF7-S

NVIDIA nForce 3:

The supported products list is incredibly crappy; the fact of the mater is that they only support 1 Soundstorm board, when the kind of people that are likely to use this utility are the kind of people that would put down the cash for a Soundstorm board. I mean, what good is this utility when one of the most popular(if not the most popular) motherboard line isn't even supported.

Yah, hopefully they continue to update support for more boards in the near future, especially mine! ;)

I just ran it and I've got about 1/50th of the OC'ing options available (the advanced tab is totally useless) and no monitoring support. The info tab is pretty nice though, but doesn't really tell you anything outside of what you could already find out using WCPUID, AIDA32 or Sandra. Another nice feature is it lists all of the nForce driver versions in one place so you can easily tell which mini-drivers they change next time they release an nForce driver update.

The coolest feature with the most potential for OC'ers however has got to be the ability to increase the voltage to the nForce chipset. If that's what I think it is, it would eliminate the need for a volt mod to increase voltage to the north bridge.....which would have a significant effect on FSB OC'ability. Also, not sure how it manages changes w/out a reboot...said something about the changes only taking effect for that session. That's certainly very interesting, if you can change your FSB, multi, and a few voltage settings on the fly in Windows that'll make benchmarking/tweaking a helluva lot easier for most people.

Has this utility been planned for a while? Totally caught me by surprise, although I have been outta the loop for a while. Thanks for the heads up tho! :D

Advanced tab? Where? Do you just mean the info screen?
Speaking of the info screen - it looks like it directly reads the RAM's SPD info. Very nice. :)

Along the buttons on the bottom, there's one for the advanced screen; it's locked out if your board isn't explicitly supported though.

Yah, the unsupported functions are locked out. :( However, if you open up the instruction .pdf, you get to see all the potential goodies supported board users have access to. This utility has a LOT of potential though...its gonna be like a combination of MBM, your BIOS, Sandra, Aida32, etc. all in one.

We really need someone with a supported board to fill us in on the details....any NF7-S users out there with a voltometer wanna play with the "nForce" voltage settings and confirm whether or not they change the chipset voltage? :)

I have an NF7-S R2 and a DMM, I may be able to make these checks. I don't really have any need to modify the voltages though, I'm stable at 1.6V...

Anyone know if the nf7-s is fully supported? Like, can you change all the voltages/multi's etc?

I hope they release the rest of their software pack when the new drivers come out. nvMixer looks pretty kickass.
Some people on nforcehq are sayin' that the drivers are complete, and that Nvidia is just addressing the uninstaller problem, along with a possible GART bug.

:)

The advanced tab on my NF7-S (rev 1.2, 7-24-03 BIOS) won't come up. The button's there, it just doesn't do anything. And the NF7-S is on the supported list.:Q

They have been saying that the drivers are done and the only holdup is the installer/uninstaller for months Francisco, don't let them get you too excited.

And Jeff, they are saying that maybe only the newer rev. of the NF7-S is fully supported or that you have to do a BIOS update to get all the functionality. Just FYI.

Who is "they"?

The site says "ABIT NF7-S" and nothing about revision 1.X and 2.X. It also says nothing under "Motherboard Solutions".

What a waste of a download. I have a NF7-S v2.0 with the 1.9 bios and I can't even get into the advanced menu.

Yeah, the betas have been testing for a long time now in prep for this release. Unfortunately it's soley a BIOS support issue, so you need to e-mail your board's maker and hound them about adding support for it to their BIOS updates. It was originally required to have an nVidia reference board for full functionality in the beta builds since none of the board makers had BIOS support for it. Evidently some of the companies are reticent to support it so it's largely up to you the end-user to force the issue with them. I've heard that some don't want to undermine their own utilities which they feel are selling points in their favor :frown:
