Nvidia sucks?

Back in the days of the X850 and 6800, Nvidia could do 16bit and 32bit, while the X850 could ONLY do 24bit. (thats why it was SM3.0 compatible, among other things).

Now since the 7 series is just an upgraded 6 series, I can't see how it can't do 32 bit.

Im not sure those 3d pictures are really 3d renders on nvidia and ati, but coincidence with a real place is not a proof, i mean it was pretty obvious for me that those 3d images were built taking a real place as a model, probably an italian one.

My advice is not to be so rude on this, show some calm and wait to know if theinquirer can backup those allegations whith a solid proof. Like some test other sites could reproduce for comparison purposes.

If they cannot, they would be better preparing a full page apology for the readers.

And there is one thing more, about the message received by gstanfor, any journalist and media site is responsible for any report they publish, you as a journalist scrutinize how much credibility has the info you receive and decide to publish it or not, you can not argue that you are only serving it, you are a mass media site not an unconsciuos water pipe that lets whatever it comes to pass throught it.

Regards from Spain from a daily reader of The Inquirer and Anandtech sites.

That's not just coincidence. Go into the forum link and look at side by side comparisons, it's a sloppy mirrored copy.

This whole fat load of balls is probably a ruse to get site hits. Fraud knows the inq's credibility is laughable so why not do something like this to gain hits.

In the end he can go "OH NOES!!!!! We were misled by a naughty developer, silly us."

I would boycott it but it's too much fun seeing the wank he's gonna come out with next.

Is there even a developer ,or is this a cruel prank on the Inq? search for rydermark and all it comes up with are "Inq- Linqs"

Yup, it's clearly _something_ based on the Grand Canal in Venice. It's roughly what you would see if you were to stand near (possibly even on) the Rialto bridge and take a photo towards St Mark's, although I don't think it's an exact likeness. I could be wrong though, as I'm going from memory and don't have a photo taken from there looking in that direction.

What is very clear though, is that the "screenshots", whatever they portray, whether it's a render or not (and I'd tend to be on the "no it's not" side here), certainly DON'T show anything like the Inq thinks they do, and they're a Photoshop hackjob.

It's also made it very clear that the guy at the Inq doesn't look at or think about what he's publishing before he does it. One more reason to ignore the site...

and what do you expect from theinquirer?
Well I'd hope they'd still have a slight shred of decency and just admit that those pics are a big fat FAKE.

Like I said, there's always the chance that nv is lowering precision but those pics don't prove ******.

If precision was being lowered you would see it in other games, the benchmark is unknown (fat chance of it existing) so Nvidia would not put it in there drivers; even if they did normally these cheats crop up quite quickly from people hacking drivers etc

But anyway you can clearly see where the filter has been dragged along and gone over some guys feet

I cant see the Inquirer admitting it was fake what did they say about the 32 pipe Ati card when it was proven wrong?

I think akshayt has inadvertently started a new game on AT forums called: Try to piss off Faud and get quoted on the INQ!

I think they said, "See! 16 texture units and 48 pixel thingies, just like we said all along!" 😉

48+16=64
since we are considering texture and pixel-thingies (which are two elements),
64/2=32 pipes!

The Inquirer pwns. You guys are newbs.😛😉

Yep, no one in the video forum here would have noticed the drop to 16 bit precision in games.

It's not like side by side screen shots have been meticulously examined here for little oddities from time to time, to comment on the ever chaging IQ war between nvidia and ATI. NEVER.

😛
