I have heard a lot about the Nvidia step up plan, and am thinking of using it.
I bought a 7800Gt from newegg. I have not registered anything, or signed anything for warranties. How can I use the step up plan to get a 7900GT, and how much will it cost?

First, it's only for eVGA cards. Second, you register on their website, and you pay the difference between your purchase price and the MSRP on the newer card.

There are about 20 people asking about it in the Video forum, so please search there.

Do you have an eVGA card, and it's not as great a deal as people think it is because you pay invoice versus msrp, and eVGA lists their msrp much higher than the actual price, that's why I didn't use the step up program.

Much higher? The 7900GT is $300 on newegg, that's about what they are quoted @ on the eVGA step up thread in video.

Since that's what they seem to be charging people i think you're flat out wrong here. Having said that apparently the offical prices will be up tomorrow. Tune in next time etc...

nm, you're right, this is the first time I've seen eVGA do that, so the step up option would be a really great option.

Keep in mind, you have to send them your card first, then they send you the "step up".
