A Dual Socket System. One CPU + NorthBridge Socket, One GPU+ SouthBridge Socket. Both With Memory Controller and Channel for DDR3 / GDDR5 Plug in Memory.

SandyBridge will have PCI-E 3.0, which should provide more then enough Bandwidth for the GPU + SouthBridge.

Any thoughts on that? Looking at the Recent AMD Southbridge which is still built on 55nm. Anand mention it could be used for future CPU integration. With current 40nm ( or even 28nm if this idea comes true ), it will be even smaller. Not to mention we could scrap some of those USB2.0 Port. ( I never used more then 6, so i dont know if anyone needs 14.) and old legacy I/O.

They already have this "video card socket" you speak of. I think the current interations use socket PCI-e.

"It'll never work" just about sums it up.

GPUs are too different to CPUs in terms of the way they are approached and the way they use other technologies.
