Why is the 2060 only 26% faster than the 1060? Might end up being not much better if now slower if amd refresh the 580...

Seems like all the paths are about 25% faster than the previous gen. It certainly is also looking that way for 1080ti vs 2080ti too. One thing that excites me about these launches is analysing their pricing and seeing the actual performance of all the models.

Although if you are two generations behind these seem like a nice upgrade.

Yea if you have a gtx1060, 1070, gtx980, gtx980ti, Vega 56, rx470/570 ,rx480/580, a
Rtx2070 or 2080 is a good upgrade.

If you have a gtx1080 a rtx2080ti is real nice upgrade.

I could be wrong, but gtx1080ti owners might want to wait till next years 7nm Nvidia refresh.

Or Mabe Nvidia put some magic sauce in there cards and performance jumps will be over 30% per performance tier.

Yeah, no extra performance for the extra year of waiting ;)

Currently I only play Forza Horizon 3 and 4 next month, neither of which requiring a 2080 Ti. I'm curious as to pricing as well. Pascal Ti cost €800 and upwards here today. I fear Turing Ti will be a thousand and upwards :/

I'll be going with a 2080 TI more than likely. Just need to work out whether it'll be Asus, MSI or EVGA.

I'd like to finish Witcher 3 and the dlc on higher settings. I forget what card I had when I stopped playing it, probably the 1070.

Most likely fake. Its not at videocardz.AdoredTV leak was very accurate with everything so far.
GTX2080 is cutdown
Codenames
BIG die+RTX2080 launch first
RTX2070 is TU106 and not cutdown RTX2080 and is also 224bit and 7GB.

This looks like the card to get. +20/25 % GTX 1080 performance + Ray Tracing, 180-200 Watts @ $ 400-450.

Hope they've built in decent number of Tensor Cores to actually use the new tech.

I'm two generations behind and the idea of a card 26% faster than a 1060 at near the price point I paid for my 970 four years ago is not the least bit exciting IMO. That would be about a 50% bump in performance, which is a far cry from the 120% bump in performance the 970 offered at launch over the then four year old 570 that launched at the same price.

Yea I get how you feel. Unfortunately those type of prices are a thing of the past. It almost makes no sense now if you were to just base it off of previous price points. Specially with technology and no competition. I remember when I could get a card for $300 and it could max everything I put it through. I used to by them used too and it would last.

Messing with PC's used to be a lot more fun...now you spend $7-800 on a card and the next year you end up doing it again just to chase the pretty details and performance of most new games that come out. I'm actually glad I also have a console because at one point I'm just going to say forget it and save that money for a down payment on a house or something.

And sometimes even when the latest card you can run into snags. I recently bought Prey and noticed a ton of stuttering on very high settings 1440p. Had to mess with uninstalling drivers and reading about what may cause it. Could be just a one off scenario here but it caught me by surprise mainly since I haven't gamed much on my PC. One of the reasons I got it for PC was because the reviews mentioned it ran crappy on consoles.

MSI or EVGA is what I'll go with on the 2080TI. I've had very good luck with both brands and they have solid customer service. I can't say the same for Asus and Gigabyte.

The thought of the 70 series potentially going from high end to midrange to low end in seven years is sickening.

AdoredTV was probably wrong at this. He thought 2080Ti and 2080 will be one die (we already know it is not), and 2060 with 2070 to be another die. Instead, it seems to be the usual: Tu102 will be used for Quadro, Titan and RTX 2080Ti, Tu104- for RTX2080 and RTX2070, and Tu106- for variants of GTX 2060.
