All I said was I invested more into Nvidia after seeing AMD's numbers, if AMD is doing that poorly someone else has to be doing well, people are still buying.

I see a smart gamble, others see fanboyism or are quickly offened by my saying AMD did poorly. Guess what, they did, get over it.

Nice act, but the photo you neglected to mention more than said enough.

Now, go ahead and troll away, Balla.

BTW....you are the butt of more than a few jokes around here. Imagine.

Alright guys, that will be enough. Stick to the topic at hand.

It's not possible to have a thread without it being infested with Nvidia trolls, I give up.

I am grateful of this thread. :) I wish a thread like this (one for NV and one for AMD) became a sticky at the top of the forum.

I'm saying it's already priced in, which means you can't count that news as proof of it being a "good investment" to buy right now, rather was good investment to buy a few months ago before this came to light, and now is a good time to sell, hence I might be selling...

I'm pretty sure Google will sell more tablets in Q3 than they did in Q2. And Q4 will probably get a nice christmas bump in sales, too. There was only 4-5 weeks of availability for Nexus 7 in Q2. MS is also launching the Surface soon, which probably accounts for little to no revenue for Tegra in Q2 since the launch is still 10+ weeks away. Amazon is announcing a Kindle Fire refresh soon - there were rumors (not verified) of it using Tegra 3 as well. Also, not sure if you heard the conference call, but Nvidia said they are still supply constrained and if they had more 28nm capacity they would be able to adjust their revenue projections up for next quarter. But sell if you want, it's not my money you're playing with!

Consumer GPU division revenue was $663 million, up 15% vs. last quarter.

that's why the 7950 is at $310 bucks :)

gotta love price wars.... just wish amd could compete with intel, and put prices down

It didn't really become much of a price war. Nvidia recaptured all the momentum and goodwill (amazingly) when the released the gtx680, 670, and 690. AMD's only logical response was to drop prices, and while they did drop prices and are now the more attractive purchase for discerning customers, it took them forever to respond.

Nvidia said today in the conference call they are selling every 28nm GPU they can make (and they aren't making enough) - which means right now they have no incentive to drop their prices because people are obviously willing to pay significantly more for an equal or slightly better performing part. Until the market reacts to AMD's price drops (it will eventually), Nvidia is cha-chinging all the way to the bank. On the same note, I don't think Nvidia can keep the gtx680 at $500 and gtx670 and $400. I think we'll see game bundles soon, followed by $30-50 price cuts. I think GK110 is going to come out at the $599-649 price tag, with a few neutered GK110 products priced less, followed by the eventual $379-399 maxed out GK104 (or GK114).

that's fair good points. Maybe I'll hold a bit longer! :D

And NVDA is down 1.5%. What gives?

Traders who bought near the 52 week low cashing in with a nice payoff%, the selling lowers today's pricing, but might also effect, buying by the end of trading today. Again effecting the stock's price.

What happened to all those arm-chair CEOs? (You know who you are) I thought this thread would be 10 page-long by now. ^^

Since the 680 was supposed to be a midrange chip, they probably have a lot of room to move the price. I don't think the 7970 is doing much to force that to happen.

Other than being faster AND cheaper, of course.

Most people prefer quality over quantity

Tell that to all those guys that got defective EVGA 670's, or Asus DC II 670's that were unstable, or the latest EVGA 670 bios that keeps their cards operating at slower speeds to remain stable
