Nvidia PureVideo question

I downloaded the 67.03 drivers from nzone and the nvidia dvd decoder 1.00.67 and installed both to activate purevideo. It seems the video quality isn't as good as the PowerDVD 6 Deluxe that I was using before. (edges were more apparent in the wmp10 I was using) Both purevideo/wmp10 and powerdvd use about 5-10% CPU load while playing DVDs for me.

Did I miss something in my installation? Is the nvidia dvd decoder the only software that can take advantage of my 6600GT's hardware video processor?
