I don't think it's greedy, as long as it's within a reasonable amount of time. With most retailers, you have 30 days to return your purchase. So therefore, I feel 30 days is a reasonable amount of time, as I could easily just return and rebuy my cards with the promo.

Then you have people like me who ordered their cards four days before the promo's start date, that's just annoying.

While this bundle is good to see, and competition is good, I think that personally, I would have preferred to see a release of the GTX960 card this Christmas season, rather than a game bundle for the 970 / 980 cards. Just saying.

Unfortunately with all of their electrical engineers working feverishly on this game bundle marketing program, it looks like the GTX960 won't be released until spring 2015.

I don't see any problem with asking if you bought one of those cards recently. Just understand if you are told you can't get the games that you got what you paid for when you bought the card at the time, that satisfies the 'contract'. So in other words, if I bought a card recently but before the bundle was announced and didn't get the games, I wouldn't complain. But I'd certainly ask if I could get the games since I bought the card recently.

Newegg appears to be giving out codes if you purchased within the last 30 days and you chat with customer service. Amazon is not.

Yup, I talked to them yesterday , at first they say it doesn't apply to you but then they say, they can give you it out of Curtsey

I understand asking, who wouldn't when its easy to do. But I think the retailers should be firm on this, just like how you can't backdate rebates and the like. The same thing happened with the 290(X) and the BF4 bundle. People complained when the bundle came out after the cards were released, and thought they deserved the game because they bought on day one. Most people here aren't complaining, but I see it on other forums.

I don't feel entitled, I just asked in case they would give it to release date buyers. It's not hurting anyone to just ask.

I once bought a PSU from NCIX and 2 days later the same model was $15 off. I politely asked if it was possible to get the rebate and they said "Of course!" so why not try it with this promotion.

EDIT: Well...sorry for those who think it's sad but Newegg finally gave me a code for the free game They are awesome!

FarCry is the game that interests me more... problem is that it will not be on my range...(GTX 760)

A 760 isn't far off, If you get the Vram close to 7GHz and overclock the gpu a bit you should be fine.

I bought zotac gtx 980 amp extreme Edition on October 25 from Amazon and contacted customer service for code. I hope I bought from Newegg and said this to guy talking with me in live chat and he then said I will direct this to marketing they may give it after all. Will let you know

Yeah same for me. For preorders you don't see anything in uplay until the release of the game. You may even receive another email with an actual key you need to redeem to activate the game once it's out.

Nice. Thanks to nvidia for footing the bill for FC4, a Ubisoft game I would not of paid for myself because Ubisoft.

Bought an MSI 970 from newegg late 9/14 and managed to get a game code by asking nicely in the online chat. No bickering or anything, just asked and got the ok and code came minutes later. May have helped that I've been a member for a decade+ ...
