I've fell out of the PhysX loop not too long after I bought my Asus PhysX P1 card. Didn't really notice much performance gaming in UT3. I had it combined with an ATI 4870... since then, I've taken the card out. Is this card going to be worth hanging on to?

Might as well hang on to it. Hopefully nV continues to support it.

akugami: I wasn't in a hating mood of any sort. If my post sounded as such, I'd like to clarify in that regard. I was rather amused at the article when I wrote about it above.

Said that, sugar-coating over something exceedingly obvious isn't one of my best abilities. I'll give you that. ;)

WTF is this? I can already use an extra GPU as a PhysX card in any PCI-E 2.0 motherboard with a full length slot- why do I need a logo to tell me I can do that? Are they going to start rebadging every X58 / 790FX / GX board that it is also 'PhysX capable' too....Sounds more like marketing and an extra license the vendor has to pay NV money for to stick the logo on their P55 boards.

Yeah, I was amused at the article myself. I just don't see much going on here aside from marketing.

I'm very puzzled and I'm wondering if this is the "big announcement" hinted at last week or the week before (read it on xbitlabs.com). Or maybe the fact that they're still developing chipsets for Nehalem/Westmere (as noted elsewhere in the news) even though they have no license to do so. If the big announcement is essentially a marketing move, then that's a big let down. If the big announcement is the fact that they're continuing chipset development then that's really not a surprise since they'll likely get a license eventually, once Intel and nVidia hashes out the exact terms of the cross licensing agreement to end their lawsuits against each other.

C'mon dude. You know that's not what this thread is about. You want to talk about Intel,......

Please dont. :D

Geezzz, I've heard of spin being put on things, but this takes the cake.

From what the marketing blurb put out by nvidia with the Power of 3, two parts were made by Intel, so how is it irrelevant to ignore Intel in the equation or discussion of this? Only talk about nvidia when it's one part of the Power of 3? Sounds like you want 1/3 to be greater than the other 2/3.......

Funny. But what else can one expect from a dyed-in-the-wool fanboi.

Please. You don't have any idea where that conversation was going to go. I kind of do.
So here's a big, "Yeah OK", to you.

Did anyone catch that it was only a x4 slot? It's possible x1 would be enough. I had a 9600GT with a x1 adapter but never could get it to work but now I know why as it isn't so simple to configure with SLI. Too bad I don't have it to test anymore. Oh well I have PhysX working with my 260 and 295 now. lol

I have (fielen is nonsensical in this sentence) the PhysX-Bow not too long, after I mine Asus PhysX P1-Card bought. Not really consider many capability gaming in UT3. I combined it with a ATI-4870....Since then I took the card, out. Is this card still worth on to be.

Heh, may want to brush up on your German a bit ;) No, I couldn't translate that, my wife was born and raised in Germany, she said that gave her a headache to translate :p

She couldn't figure out your tense useage or anything, you bought a PhysX card after your PhysX card?
