Nvidia Performance and Quality settings??

Need a quick crash course on the appropriate settings for my 6800GT. I've been noticing the application profiles with global driver settings what does this do and if I set a standard profile to play at 4XAA 8X AF how can you tell if its being applied.

Just set the options you want in the nV control panel. In this case, 4xAA/8xAF, and make sure they don't say "Application Controlled" next to them (make sure they are checked as well). This forces the driver settings as opposed to letting the application set the AA/AF. You should be able to tell it's working by looking at the app. Additionally, any changes you make from within the application with regards to AA/AF won't do anything.
