I've had way too many issues with GFWL corrupting my saves, crashing and preventing me from playing games that I paid for o_O

Reality has more than 1 side of experience. since no 1 game on the computer has ever worked perfectly for everyone. I never had any issues playing GFWL games, but i have 2 steam games that will not run.
Deus ex 3, crashes constantly, NFS, wont play at all despite all i tried up to the windows format and steam reinstall.

of course i'm smart enough not to knock Steam saying how bad it is just because of my linear experience with it. Theres going to be issues with any particular game for someone out there.

I don't know why you keep bringing this up. We're all aware that PC has switched to DD, and NPD has tracked DD sales for some time.

Even with DD into consideration, PC game sales are a joke and they're generally released only for residual sales. This has been stated numerous times from big name devs such as Tim Willets from id software, project red, really, its not a mystery when witcher 2 barely moves 300k on PC (with DD) yet sells millions on consoles. In fact, the highest selling DD PC game was starcraft 2 that sold something 4 million and change. Thats magnitudes higher than any PC game yet it doesn't even crack the top 50 of all games sold compared to consoles.

You can argue until you're blue in the face but PC game sales are horrible compared to consoles, and thats WITH taking DD into account.

You keep claiming that NPD tracks digital sales but we all know they don't track the biggest one and they do it poorly.

But as others have stated the strength of the PC distribution method is the length that games sell.
