So we can finally have some real GPU horsepower and don't get embarrassed by the ugly/bulky designs. Sign me up for a 14-15'' model once Intel gets mobile CFL-H out.

I was heavily considering purchasing the gigabyte Aero 15, but now I'm definitely waiting to see how much the gtx1070 qmax based clevo will cost with a 1080p screen and SSD.

Doubtful. That "Vega 10" 590 is rather suspect having GDDR5 and also the 1160 having less cores AND clock speed and still managing to be at the 1080 level is tough to think is possible.

Also, AMD has officially confirmed that "Vega" will be the actual card name and not just the internal name. They aren't going to call it "Fury" again. And as you noted, there's absolutely nothing to indicate there will be a GDDR5 version - it would make no sense for AMD to waste die space by integrating both types of controllers.

Just learned how to use my Samsung VR headset as a NV Shield receiver!

Nothing like laying down and enjoying a good session of PC Gaming!

Finally some proper mobile GP108 tests, courtesy of NotebookCheck:

NVIDIA GeForce MX150
- Time Spy Graphics: 1058
- Fire Strike Graphics: 3673
- 3DMark 11 Performance GPU: 4685

Much faster than HD Graphics 620...

Intel HD Graphics 620 (avg)
- Time Spy Graphics: 318.3
- Fire Strike Graphics: 908
- 3DMark 11 Performance GPU: 4356

And on par / faster than the old Geforce GTX 950M at much lower power (~50W vs 25W TDP according to NBC).

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M (avg)
- Time Spy Graphics: 971
- Fire Strike Graphics: 3251
- 3DMark 11 Performance GPU: 4685

I wonder if they'll consider adding G-Sync to the MX150-equipped laptops? It almost sounds like it would be an awkward pairing from a premium feature perspective, but G-Sync works well at hiding a weaker chip's lower capability.

NVIDIA Collaborates with Activision and Bungie to Bring Destiny 2 to PC

Dozens of high-performance GeForce GTX 1080 Ti PCs will enable attendees to sample Destiny 2’s campaign mode in 4K at 60 FPS on NVIDIA G-SYNC displays. If however you can’t make it to E3 to experience Destiny 2 for yourself, we’re proud to debut the first ever Destiny 2 4K 60 FPS PC gameplay footage, captured on GeForce GTX. In addition, influencers will be capturing and sharing their own Destiny 2 PC gameplay footage for the first time, in 4K, thanks to GeForce Experience’s ShadowPlay technology.

In celebration of Destiny 2 and the first release of 4K PC content, we are launching a limited-time GeForce GTX Destiny 2 Bundle. From now until June 27, 2017, purchases of select GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards, systems or laptops at participating partners will get you a copy of Destiny 2 at PC launch. And what’s more, this bundle will give you early access to the much-anticipated Destiny 2 PC beta* that’ll be available before the game’s PC release.

Bundle for only 2 weeks though.

Anyone else noticing higher prices and more OOS on GTX 1070's (and 1060s)? A month or two ago, I noticed allot of 1070s on sale for >$400. Now, if they are below $400 they seem to disappear in a couple of hours and go OOS. Miners don't seem to care for the price/performance of the GTX 1080. Anyway, my budget is 'under' $400). Saw an MSI for $370, checked with my wife (we've always done this for stuff over $100) and refresh and it was gone :(. Now I have her OK and just need to find a good deal. I only need a GTX 1060 for gaming, but wanted a 1070 for F@H next winter.

I'm *seriously* considering selling my GTX 1070 on ebay. Followed an auction this morning for a used 1070 with exact same vendor and model as my card and it sold for $392 + $15 shipping. I'm barely playing any games right now too, so I'd just get a $100 card to use until Volta and then keep as a backup.

Wow $392 used! I think AMD are going to have find a way to make specific cards for miners so they can preserve their retail channels.

@jpiniero Well, lots of 1070s OOS. So it seems like they'll take what they can get up to a point, even with GDDR5X.
I just figured the perf/$ of the 1080 isn't high enough, too bad that's more than I'm willing to spend on a GFX card right now.

I have to say that I seem to be rather adept at missing out on the bundle deals. :p I bought a 1050 Ti for a HTPC, and then they start giving away Rocket League. I bought that ASUS 1080 Ti last week, and now they give away Destiny 2.

IIRC, GDDR5X hurts mining performance so that's why it's not popular with miners.

Hm, that's interesting. How does it hurt mining performance?

Because new ones have crept up in price. They were dipping to $350 or so, but are now firmly over $400. My exact model has gone up from $380 or so when I bought it back in October to $450, so $392 +$15 shipping is still a discount over that exact model brand new on amazon.

GPU prices seem to be really wonky right now thanks to this mining craze. I sold my nitro fury for $75 more than I paid for it last year and upgraded to an EVGA 1080 SC for $410. Just waiting for my XB271HU to arrive to use it in all its glory.

NVIDIA GeForce 1040 is coming, Lenovo IdeaPad 320s is getting it first! (+price)

ideapad-320s-gf1040.jpg

...Now NVIDIA is preparing another budget-friendly GPU codenamed GF1040/GeForce 1040. We’re not sure whether or not this name will be final or NVIDIA will brand it as MX140 but we have information that one of the latest Lenovo IdeaPad models (320s) already has a configuration with the new GPU and the new Intel Core i5-8250U.

At the moment we know the price for Europe only – 759 EUR (i5-8250U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) which equals to $899, although we’re pretty sure that the US price will be much lower – between $699 and $799.

Hummm, nice of course but not convinced the noise levels will be that good. Single fan stuff works rather better down at ~1060 style TDP's. But then the Volta xx60 might be quite a while off if they launch GV104 first so whatever :)
