ATI is good, Nvidia is good. ATI currently has the faster chip. After a little while, Nvidia will probably have a faster chip. Then, if predictions are correct, ATI will take the lead again. And back and forth the cycle (hopefully) goes, leaving people like me who don't have enough money to get top-of-the-line current video cards with slightly older models that still have great performance.
