I was just downloading a movie when the connection suddenly dropped. No error messages or anything...it just disconnected. Tried to reinstall the drivers again but nothing. Also...when it starts...I see that it assigns an IP and subnet mask but not a gateway and DNS. I also have another Realtek onboard LAN and this one is workin OK. I put all the settings (IPs, gateway etc.) for this in the nvidia lan manual settings and still nothing.
What might be the problem?

Need more info...

What are you connecting to and how is it configured? Is it a router or a modem? Using DHCP or static IPs? You get the picture.

Assuming you're using win2k/xp, paste the results of 'ipconfig /all' for the working and non-working connections here.

Open your network connections and tell me the status of the LAN devices (if they're even there). Right click on the mobo's link, select properties. Double-click the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" item and tell me what it says under both tabs.
