benched against AC 97 crappy audio... woulda liked it better if it was up against the AE, SC, Audigy, and GTXP. not terribly revealing, this review.

since the sound quality isn't amazing as everyone said it would be, there really isn't a reason to go with nforce anymore. That RAM bug is a massive problem, and shouldn't be tolerated, if it was any other company other than Nvidia, they'd be blasted to bits by now.

while the RAM is a non-issue for me at least, and the network performance is outstanding, the audio was a huge disappointment, i am going to deactivate this sound and use a sound card with a box. i remember when they said a breakout box would be available for nforce, etc. oh well. aside from the audio, it's an excellent chipset IMO, and of course it's not Via which is a great thing ;)

Considdering nVidia are, along with Intel, the most popular target for flames and anti brand hating right now, I kinda doubt that.

Using the third dimm will actually cause performance to be less than that of only using 2 dimms. pretty retarded.

Raspewtin. wtf are you talking about? the only things wrong are poor W98se support and no eax support in W2K and this is just a driver issue. the audio performance is outstanding and competitive to sb's offerings.

i hear scratches sometimes and the sound is not as clean as my old SBlive as opposed to my nforce board. Most of the issues are driver related. one interesting thing is the lower cpu usage of the nforce vs the SB Live

I was going to rush out and buy the first nForce off the line. But I'm glad I didn't. It looks like an okay board right now, but nothing to jump up and down about. Maybe the next rev., or the next...
