Nvidia loop/BSOD error with Intel motherboard and 850 series chipset

Hello,
I am, like SO many other people out there, having an enormous amount of BSOD's and crashes from my GE Force 3 card. I have tried everything including all drivers I can get my hands on. I have tried literally everything, with the exception of setting AGP to a speed lower than 4x in my BIOS. I have been told by many people that this fixed the problem for them ( takes away a slight amount in performance, but it still fixes it for them). I would like to try this but I do not have that option in my BIOS! I have an Intel 850 series motherboard and I love the board with the exception of the lack of options to control in the BIOS. Is there any way that I can change this option in my BIOS with a program or something? I have tried Powerstrip but I had no success, turned my monitor black after restarting my computer. I really need this fixed and I have tried everything! Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks...

Even though I've never encountered the infinite loop error with the nVidia drivers that are believed to be the culprit (23.11), the easiest thing to do is uninstall the 23.11 drivers and then install the 23.12 or any other driver version you want. It's not a big deal...

My friend and I, both running VIA KT266A chipsets, have a GeForce 3, and GeForce 2 Pro respectivly. My friend is using the 27.20s and I'm using the 27.23's and neither him nor I have experienced the Inifite Loop Error, and both of us are using Windows XP. My suggestion is to try one of the beta drivers out there on the net, you can get them from 3D Chipset and see if that helps your issue, and make sure you remove your previous drivers COMPLETEY, meaning go into your Registry and double check everything has been cleared out.

looks like I'll be installing some new drivers! I also want to add that it really seems as if Nidia is putting out some serious crap lately, not there own chipset just support for thier graphics cards supporting other chipsets!

it IS a big deal when you cant play any direct x game for more than 5 seconds without it crashing. I have tried beta drivers, as I have tried every version i can get my hands on. And i always uninstall the older versions before putting new ones on, including going into the registry. I have read almost everything that there is about this issue on the net and tried all suggestions but i am still lost. Some drivers (27.42) do seem to be much more stable than others but they all still crash in games or just even sufring the web. Here is another thing that is VERY odd. I have a second hard drive, so i did an install on it of Windows 98. I had no problem before but now I get the blue screen of death in it to! This is a fresh install with only my graphics card, chipset drives, direct x 8.1 and dvd rom installed. I have a 300w power supply ( Alienware computer) so i dont think that my power supply is the problem. I also have 256 mb RDRAM. Could it be bad RAM? I really dont know what to do because my parts are high quality, nothing generic, and i cant play a game for 5 seconds without it crashing, go figure...
