Finally got a chance to sit down and run some preliminary numbers. First, here's a shot of the card in the system:

FTUjGWb.jpg

I wanted to start out somewhat conservatively so I ran through Valley with the core pegged at 1477MHz and the memory at 7.7GHz. Card doesn't even break a sweat - never got above 40c during several runs.

1kQRZt0.jpg

I think there's definitely lots of headroom left here, but work has taken up most of my time since the card arrive so I can't say for certain. I will say though, it looks like the card is bumping up against the 110% power limit at times even with these moderate overclocks. May need to check out a custom bios to get to 120% or more to see what the card can really do.

As it is now, even if I couldn't push it any further, this card absolutely eats 3440x1440 for lunch. Insane.

More or less an air conditioning compressor. Does it use Freon? Or other?

most of them are either r22 (freon) or r410.
It really depends on how the unit was tuned and how cold the head needs to be @ heat load.

Don't think it's freon :p

With the right insulation condensation isn't a problem, I've been using this setup every day since mid October

LD Cooling also have Cases with built in phase cooling

http://www.ldcooling.com/

As i said its either R22 or R410 which is the alternative... It really depends on how the machine was tuned from the factory.
Ive had mine built by hobbiest from XS from way long ago, before things got really bad there with phase change unit sellers..

Condensation is ALWAYS a problem...
Did u use liquid tape or Dielectric greese? Please tell me you at least used a kneeding eraser.
The problem lies in the underside of the board as well as the side of the cpu, and the problem also gets worse as your in idle....

Looking at the SPEC's of your unit:
Heatload which can hold: 300W at -30°c on Evaporator Head.

As i have stated, you WILL run into problems at idle when the unit does like -44C.... I highly doubt u will a bypass value in it, which bypasses the gas @ set Temp, so the unit keeps an absolute min as those were very high maintenance.

I have owned 2 SS (well 1, but it got converted into 2 different units), rotary compressors. One was for CPU direct which later i converted to a chilled liquid cooler.
Then i moved to a multi TEC liquid chiller, as they were A LOT quieter, and i could control them so i could stay just ahead of the condensation barrier.

Anyhow I retired chilled cooling because it was just ridiculous having a machine draw 600W+ under idle... My current machine already does 300W+ under idle and its just under water... :p

Going back on topic... im looking for an excuse to get me a titan X, but lately... i dont do much gaming as i normally do which would require a GPU prowess greater then my 980GTX's in SLI...
:\

Maybe if i move up to 4k.... but im worried things will get smaller, like how when i went from 1080 -> 1440p.... it things get even smaller, my poor eyes wont see them, and i'll be hunched over my desk more then i already am.. :p

Are there any aftermarket coolers for the titan x yet?

EK has a waterblock available...
Koolance has no ETA on theres.

I believe LC blocks should come no later then 1 month after launch.
According to some reviews, im hearing that the cards do get rediculously hot.

Reminds me of my 980GTX's again.... if they threw the same cooler on this card, (making the sign of the cross) god have mercy on that heat furnace...

It would probably be worth it to watercool this card, as i guessimate, it would reduce your load temps by 1/2, as well as keep idle temps +5~+7C over liquid coolant temp.
A Full cover block will also keep the vregs in check, and allow longer endurance runs with it without stressing the card to any degree.
And a full LC setup for GPU only will not cost more then the card itself, which to me is a sound financial upgrade.

Very nice Baasha ! And I was happy to see the return of AT's favorite tissue box in there as well.

I use kneeding eraser on both sides of the mobo + I have the mobo resting directly on an insulating plate and have no issues so far(7 months now) Idle temps are -50C ish.

@AdamK47

Wouldn't four Titan Z provide better numbers?

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently you are limited to only 4 GPUs by the Geforce driver.

Very nice!!!
What are the cards temps? Are you water cooling them or stock?

Cards are cooled with water, EK full cover blocks on them. Idle temps where 6C load around 17-18C due to the radiator using outside air which is 2C :)

Here you see the setup, SS on CPU

please use a antifreeze additive..

@ 2C water becomes slushy... which is very bad on the pumps...

im assuming your coolant level is probably around 3-4C which can case havok on your pump if the water does indeed become slushy....
Also you risk having portions of your rad freeze over and rupturing the tubing.

You know how they tell you to drain your water pipes in cabins when ur on vacation so water stuck inside doesnt expand?
A 20% mixture will help your life in your parts in your case, and probably wont eat much performance... well you wont miss at it at the envelop your already at.

Thanks for the advice but I'm monitoring water temps closely and I'm not letting it drop below 5C. I've got a very good way of regulating it by adjusting the opening of the window :p
Air temps are not below freezing point this time of year so no need for antifreeze.

Heaven 4.0 got 61.0 fps @ 2560x1440 all max settings. I only saw 1080p screenshots in this thread, so hopefully my system is in the ballpark.

LOL.. the Titan X are absolute monsters.

I did a SLI run on Heaven 4.0 and got a higher score w/ 2 Titan X than I did with 4 Titan Black SC! o_O

That kind of performance increase in such a short time is phenomenal IMO.

Btw, can you give me any hints/tips on tweaking the settings for Benchmark runs? My CPU is OC'd higher than yours as are my cards but you are getting some fantastic scores in Heaven 4.0 and 3D Mark Fire Strike.

Also, my Fire Strike now never utilizes the GPUs fully - the scaling stays below 50% so I end up getting a really low score. When I first installed the cards, they ran at full speed w/ ~ 99% usage across all 4 GPUs.

Any idea why/how this might be happening?

What MoBo settings are you using? Feel free to PM me if you want.

Here's Shadow of Mordor in 5K w/ everything maxed out:

Very cool. You know that YouTube now supports 4K60 streams...? ;-)

They do? I've upload most of my videos which are 4K60FPS but they automatically get gimped to 1080P60FPS so I provide a DL link to the full 4K @ 60FPS Video.

Any evidence for YouTube supporting 4K @ 60FPS?

The most recent Shadow of Mordor video I did (linked in previous post) is a 30FPS video so the 4K option shows.

I would LOVE to have YouTube have the option of 4K60FPS - would save me $$$ on hosting huge files for download.
