Nvidia GTX 280

I'm building a new computer with a single GTX 280 in it, a core duo processors, 4gb ram, and a high-end motherboard. Not sure of the exact specs yet because i don't plan to build it for awhile, but I need a new power supply now and I want it to be able to support a system like this. I was thinking the EA650, but I'm not sure if it has the 8 pin connector required (is that just 2 four pins?).

Well there are no 4 pin PCI-E connectors. The EA650 only has a single 6+2 pin connector and the GTX 280 requires an 8 pin (or 6+2 pin) AND a 6 pin. It is pretty pathetic for a 650W PSU to only have a single PCI-E connector.

The Corsair VX550 has the correct connectors and should be enough..or the TX650...not to mention both of those PSUs have nicely sleeved cables.

rowdie7, welcome to Anandtech Forums.

The BFG LS-550 and LS-680 have the required connectors. IIRC (got on in the garage, can check) the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 has the required connectors. The corsairs that HOOfan 1 mentions are good choices, as is the TX750 model.
