Nvidia GPU's on phones

now im not sure how relevant this is to you Americans since i have no idea if you have 3G networks

but Nvidia has just landed a deal to get their goForce GPU's in the new motorola razr and they have scored with sony in the W900i

"Sony Ericsson chose NVIDIA as it obviously likes its mobile design and we are sure that this phone can put NVIDIA Shader core for mobiles to good use. GoForce 3D 4800 can support 640x480 resolution it can decode and encode Jpeg, encode and decode Mpeg 4, supports early Z, multi texturing and Programmable pixel Shader and do some other nice stuff. Don't forget 3 Mpix camera support. This actually means that you will be able to play some nice looking games and to do some serious video on any of these phones."

thats some pretty capable stuff.......its got pixel shaders! and multi texturing! haha how long before something like a Gf3 is available on mobiles i wonder?

Pretty soon we will have $799 phones that are released in limited quantities and you still have to upgrade every year .

Personally, I'm not a fan of doing anything that flashy on cell phones other than talking. If you want to play games, buy a PSP (or a GBA/DS)! Why is everyone so eager to kill their batteries on cell phone games?

Its a Digital handheld mobile phone! How and where do you americans get CELL From?

Although I kind of agree about games, the k750i I just got is a sweet little thing that takes 2.0mp camera shots with very good quality(best fora phone), and has an good quality mp3 player built in, so every day I go out with my phone I have a camera in case a good opportunity comes along, and I can listen to music for 4-5 hours. It really beats lugging around a phone, ipod, and clunky camera all together, and is comparable in price to those three things combined as well.

I think for low-resource usage like mp3's and cameras, the combination is great for a cell phone.
