I wish Anandtech had enough sense not to use it.

Anandtech doesn't use 3DMark scores. The only time I've seen Anand use 3DMark is for theoretical bandwidth numbers

Anand has made it a habit not to use any form of 3DMark in any review.

First we'll have to validate ExtremeTech's accusations of NVIDIA "cheating" in 3DMark03.

Did you see the screen shots??? What more validation do you need?

Exactly I`m sure it`s going to effect my gaming ;).

Besides the quote here is interesting
nVidia believes that the GeForceFX 5900 Ultra is trying to do intelligent culling and clipping to reduce its rendering workload, but that the code may be performing some incorrect operations. Because nVidia is not currently a member of FutureMark's beta program, it does not have access to the developer version of 3DMark2003 that we used to uncover these issues.
.

It`s very easy to point figures at Nvidia ,I wouldn`t call them cheating at this time,we don`t have all the facts as to the reasons why,I`ll wait for more info before I`ll start pointing figures, eitherway 3dmark means nothing to me.

:)

This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen, I mean.....WHO cares about some stupid syntheitic test when the real world tests are more accurate. I was not gona post until I saw that someone else decided to bring up this retarded subject again. Competition like this can get dirty, amd both sides are trying to show their product is the better one, and sometimes you just have to deal. All of you ATI fans need to chill, and everyone else who is flaming Nvidia. It seems ever since the NV30 fiasco and 3dmark scandel, everyone has been comming down on them for no good reason. They goofed and now that they are making a prettty darn good comeback, and now people are just looking for something negative to say about them. ATI's past has not been perfect either, and granted the Nvidia fans should not be making pot shots in that direction either. The reviews are up all over the web, so all it comes down to is personal preferance. I know that ATI's image quality is alittle nicer, but not enough to for me to really care or notice, and I am gona stick with a company and drivers that I am use to, so that is why I am choosing the FX5900 Utlra.

Obviously, NVIDIA cares. Otherwise, they wouldn't have felt perpelled to CHEAT.

Plus I still think 3dmarks is crap. The benches on the games and especially doom3 is what matters the most and the nv35 stomped the competition.

oh like that was a real benchmark

I read tha Nvidia doesn't have access to the 3DMark beta..

They must be kidding ! They may not have official access to it but how likely is it that the one of the biggest players in the graphics chip market isn't going to get access to this info one way or another ?

Good for nVidia.

By optimizing for the specific field of view of the 3dMark synthetic tests they have basically eliminated the validity of 3DM03, and no users of their products are affected at all.

Sounds great to me.
