When I try to run the Nvidia Cloth Demo on my Visiontek GF3 Ti 200, I get
the message "This sample requires functionality that is not available on
your hardware accelerator".

What is causing this? I'm using the 23.11 drivers.

I tried emailing Nvidia w/ no reponse.

Detonator 23.11? That sounds very old...the latest drivers are 40.xx or 41.xx IIRC. Try updating the drivers?

I went to the nVidia demo download section and didn't see "Cloth" demo. Is there a different name? Where did you d/l it?

A lot of people still use 23.11 and 23.12, and some even 21.8x, saying they work better on the older cards. Are the newer drivers just mainly for the newer cards?

Nvidia doesn't have the Cloth Demo on their site anymore for some reason. I got it from fileplanet.

Nvidia told me the problem is most likely due to the drivers not having higher-order surface
support, and I would have to install an older driver than what I'm using, since only the old drivers support HOS.

WTF?

from what i understand hos was not working quite right on the geforce cards so they just ditched it, i didnt realise there were ever public drivers that suported it.
