Saw some sites claiming about Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti being the fastest card on the planet.

Do you guys agree?

I dont think so. Look at the anandtech review.

Not at this point and time. It trades blows with 290X.

I see the 780 Ti ahead in more benches than it loses so yes.

When overclocking it completely stomps the 290X as well. AMD's fault for skimping on the cooler. I know better coolers will come, but it's a completely fair comparison - reference to reference.

I don't know.

The 290(x) is kind of like Goku... it keeps getting stronger.

It came in strong, then nvidia dropped prices, then they made their 290 even cheaper than expected and it upped the fan to get even more performance.

A stronger opponent is released in the 780 Ti, but then so will some enhanced cooler version of the 290(x). It trades blows now, with the better coolers it will get stronger again.

when 20nm hits.

Actually, this single battle makes more sense.

Nvidia is Cell, slapping around all comers, and not even in final form.

Then Gohan comes along and starts beating him

Then Cell unlocks his final form to become perfect cell, edging out SSJ2 Gohan

But then, Gohans allies/AIB partners assist him, and help him unlock all his power contained inside.

Fastest card on the planet would probably be aboard the Apollo 10 command module. It reached 24,791 mph.

Shoot, the current 290X's haven't hit their full potential. The heat issues with the stock cooler cause it to throttle the clocks so it never really hits the 1Ghz clock for very long. With the incoming aftermarket coolers, I'm curious to see if it'll actually exceed the Titan and 780Ti.

Actually, with the 780Ti exising . . . is there any reason for the more expensive Titan?

"Fastest card on the planet" used to impress me when I was 16. That title means nothing as it lasts about 6 months. But for now, yes, the 780ti is the fastest gaming card on the planet in most cases. What about mining? There is a compute comparison that may tell a very different story depending on the application.

1600p its too close to call and highly game suite dependant. At 4K, no, its going to lose to the R290X. CF R290X at 4K will stomp all over SLI 780Ti.

At 1080p, no contest, the 780ti is outright the fastest single GPU.

It's the fastest, but is it the best? Subjective. I know i'd rather get 2x 780s in SLI rather than a single 780ti or SLI 780ti's - 400$ savings and way more performance by far. I'd also consider the 290 non X crossfire if I were on the market as well but only an aftermarket edition without that stupid AMD shroud.
