Good luck finding aftermarket 1070 for 380.If you look at 1080 most aftermarket cards cost same as FE or more.
MSI 1080 gaming X cost 750 or 800USD
Only evga with reference PCB cost less.

That's not accurate, at least 2 or 3 other vendors that I've seen have stated pricing at Computex in the last week at $599 MSRP and up for their cooling options. EVGA was just the first, and they happen to be the only AIB I think that sells directly through their site and not only through resellers like most do. EVGA also says stock on the non-FEs coming in the next couple weeks. It's pretty obvious NV told AIBs to hold off a couple weeks for the FE tax which is the reason we're in this drought now. But the thinking that all 1080s will be $699 and up even after the FE are gone has already been debunked.

There are custom Geforce GTX 1080 for lower price than FE, so what additional proof do you need?

Here is another video of the GTX 1070 not holding 60 fps in gameplay at 1440p medium in Rise of the Tomb Raider. I don't know why everyone is so quick to say this is a 1440p and up only card.

EDIT: Ugh, nevermind, this guy is testing with a freaking i5-6400, and I know this game hits the cpu hard, so maybe that's responsible for the dips into the low 50s. What kind of dumbass uses the slowest i5 to do a gpu benchmark?

Isn't the Skylake i5 a pretty strong part for gaming? Shouldn't higher resolutions stress the GPU more than the CPU?

An i5-6400 probably isn't enough to keep above 60 fps at very high in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Not sure on medium.

Btw stock i5 6500 is faster than 2500K at 4.6Ghz with 2133Mhz memory.i5 6400 is not much slower than 6500

- 67 C load temps, with a 39% fan speed
MSI Gaming Geforce GTX 1070 Overclocked Firestrike - 18384

Overclocked

Core Clock: 1687 MHz
Max Boost Clock: ~2088 MHz
Memory Clock: 9400 MHz

10-20% better performance without much effort isn't bad at all. This will be a killer card if it costs around $400.

Is there going to be a MSI Seahawk and the EVGA version of the water cooler for the 1070? Do any other vendors do an all in one water cooled version?

EK did do a block that could be used for a 970 though, so I guess it'll be possible to order a 1070 made up from a few of the places that do such things. Overclockers UK definitely did (still do) a small length water cooled version of the 970.

There'll be a hefty mark up though.

Don't really fancy doing a custom loop. I would only buy one that is already done. Think I'll just stick with an open cooler then. Thanks for the info.

Still awaiting an AIB 1070 with the single 8-pin power connector like on the FE cards. Asus and MSI looked to have added a an 8+6 pin power connector on their custom cards.
