Oh yes, that one ranks right up there with "hardware has nothing to do with software".(Anyone recall the AF thread where little Greggy showed us how to count color rings?)
But wait... the rings have nothing to do with hardware!!! 😛

Now do you see the sarcasm that is missing in this thread? Or do we have to make the sentences color coded?

Is it a delay because NVIDIA had announced that date? Or is it a delay because the Inq pulled it outta their butt and would rather blame them for it.
LoLYou poor offended little fanatic! I"ve never pretended to like ATi. Get over it!

Honestly, given nvidia's position of strength and Ati's floundering...they have no reason to rush out the refresh cards. Whether this delay is the result of some design problem or not remains to be seen, as well as if its really going to happen. However, holding back for strategic reasons wouldn't be an awful move here for nvidia.

If this is true it's just because Nvidia is waiting to see what R600 will be and will tweak G84/86 accordingly.
Anyway you look at it, we are the losers! I'm sure there are a lot of people looking to buy mid level DX10 hardware. You know, the sub $200 kind

Or do we have to make the sentences color coded? The article states that there ***appears*** to be a bug and the launch ***may**** be a soft one, not that it will be delayed...Note the speculation in that statement - just like the entire article is nothing but speculation - pulled from INQ staff's nether regions...
Oh, wait. That won't even work. (Anyone recall the AF thread where little Greggy showed us how to count color rings?)

Precisely. And those b!tching and moaning about the state of nvidia's Vista drivers should realise nvidia has little real incentive to put effort into a Vista driver until M$ gets off its butt and officially launches DX10.

These NVIDA Windows Vista drivers are under development. This version is not fully optimized for full 3D performance and may not include all available features available on different operating systems. NVIDIA, along with the industry, is continuing to update its Windows Vista drivers to ensure maximum performance on 3D applications and add support for features. These drivers are provided "AS IS." NVIDIA MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WHATSOVER AS TO MERCHANTABILITY, COMPATABILITY, PERFORMANCE, APPLICATION OR FUNCTION, AND DISCLAIMS ALL SUCH WARRANTIES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
Who would have bought the cards, then?

GeForce 8600 GTS, 8600 GT and 8500 GT are all firmed for April 17th launch and card makers have already received revision A2 GPUs from NVIDIA for mass production. We can expect cards to reach distributors and retailers in 2 weeks time ready for mass availability in the market. The performance of the G84 and G86 cards are pretty ideal so far and card makers are satisfied. Using a Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor, the 3DMark06 scores for 8600 GTS reaches 7K, 8600 GT is 5.9K while 8500 GT is 2.9K.

Yes. April 17th is the delayed date. We know. Originally supposed to be launched at CeBit.
will most likely delay the April 17 launch

Rumors "confirming" cebit delays long *after* cebit actually happened are beyond useless. nvidia's widely reported low key presence at cebit was a very clear sign nothing major was going to occur there.
Mid april is about as early as it could possibly get for a nvidia launch in any case, with a date closer to may being much more likely based on nvidia's history.
