Has nobody else tried G-Sync ?
It sounds like there's quite a lot of fervor for that 1440p ROG Swift monitor. I wonder if they'll sell out rather quickly?
I don't care if it sells out, as long as I GET MINE FIRST!
When Q2 hits I'm sure there will be more. Not too many people want to tear their monitor apart for this I imagine.
But aren't you then just replacing them with another, different tear just as quickly?
I haven't played on a 120+ Hz display yet, so I can't speak firsthand, but I do know that I find tearing utterly unbearable on my 60 Hz display to the point where I enable vsync in every game I own, despite the stutter and lag it causes.
G-Sync will be a very good thing for me.

I'm interested in it too. But since I do not live in US I am worried about availability and even more so pricing (and the price of the GPUs needed to power it).
However now I'm not sure g-sync would be that great for me. I play without vsync due to input lag but I also don't notice tearing at all(note: I still mainly play BFBC2). So I doubt I would actually benefit much from g-sync?

Yeah i hope there will be a pre-order option soon. I have the cash right now waiting for it.
I already have a 120Hz monitor as well, but the tearing really depends on the game for me. I don't notice it in most games, but I recall other games looking really awkward with the tearing.
Part of the reason why I'd like the monitor is that it would be nice to go from 1080p to 1440p and not lose my 3D Vision capability and also gain G-Sync. At least I'm pretty sure the ROG Swift also has 3D Vision....
I don't believe we have any factory installed G-sync monitors for sale yet, so we are still looking at inflated pricing, which is roughly $200 extra.how much are they selling for now?
I have G sync installed in my Asus monitor and professionally calibrated it myself. I run a pair of 780's in SLI. Simply put the performance has been flawless. ) tearing or stuttering, no lag. Monitors constrast and colors actually calibrated out better than with the original Asus control board and OSD controls......the Nvidia ones are much better.
IMO the $200 for the upgrade is dirt cheap compared to what it provides. A very POLISHED/Retail feeling product. For $200 you get the new control board, DP cable, power supply, adaptor brackets great instructions and a product that truely delivers the ability for an LCD panel to fully emulate a CRT display.
In fact everyone thats been over and seen it run was blown away by the depth and smoothness of all the video games. Even when your FPS drops into the 30-40fps range it still feels like your playing at 60fps. Awesome. $450 total for the Asus 144hz panel and G sync module is IMO a BARGAIN.
