Nvidia Forceware drivers- Do I need it?

You're refering to the Drivers that are part of the NF4 Chipset package - right ?

Don't install them (or the IDE drivers), they cause most people nothing but trouble.

They have some kind of Firewall function if they're the ones I'm thinking of - and they usually don't work.

arrg.. yup, ide drivers just killed my system. it's hanging at the Windows logo screen

did that... got back into windows, but the lan driver is screwed. it's not working and i cant uninstall, or reinstall. file is locked?!

this is a new machine, so re-ghosting.

thought nvidia was better than that
