waiting for "official" support for physx cards in an Radeon system.

I have been running my 8800 gs with crossfired 5870's for a week or so now with awesome results using beta 257.17 drivers. Get on the ball nVidia and realize this will make you extra $$. Your gonna need it next month ;)

Thanks, I can finally enjoy BF BC2 again on my 480 with these drivers... The game plays like it should now...almost regretted selling my 5970/5870 Tri-fire setup(ATI seems to have their fair share of issues in BC2 too...but most seem to be cfx related). No more multi-gpu setups for me...from either camp. I think I always say that though. :D

I always wonder how they get those figures so accurate, down to the resolution, AA and detail settings. Good improvements all round though.

These are rock solid and dont really need the WHQL from ms IMO. Sometimes WHQL just doesnt matter, its more a stable release then what it says which is beta. That is what I like about nVidia, their beta drivers are like real finished drivers, just gotta get the WHQL from ms which as I said shouldn't mean squat. Thanks and lets rejoice and enjoy these swank drivers. 260.xx pownz!

People are still having problem with stuttering/flickering in the game.
My sc2 was flickering and down clocks to 405 in game.
New driver fixed flickering but still downclocks to 405Mhz in game.
90 fps to 40 fps drop .....
I regret selling my 5850.

have you tried setting the power management mode in the cp to "prefer maximum performance"? I was wondering if that may make any difference in keeping the card from downclocking during a game.

yes i did. Its the driver. Alot of people getting similar problems in SC2, mafia II, and bfbc2.

sc2 works fine at first.
I get only 50% gpu usage and driver downclocks to get it up to 100%.

It's b/c you're using a 8800GT. When you own a 400 series card, you shouldn't spout such drivel.

I mentioned before, RETURN THE CARD.

I had the same issue with my EVGA GTX 460. Returned the card, this one works fine in sc2 now.

Hmm, I'm getting flickering too but I'm on the last driver...not at home now to test.

Was the problem in SC2 all the time for you? For me, it would occur when I minimized the game and went back in. The textures would flash and eventually sort itself out.

I never had this flickering issue. This aint screen tearing right?

Is there a performance improvement in SCII using these drivers? The curent drivers I use clock my cards to full 3D clocks (during ingame) but the GPU usage is only at 50%.

I went through 3 GTX460 1gb and now gtx465@470.
Swapped out to new motherboard, memory, harddrive, powersupply.
Its the driver.
New driver fixed my flickering but card still downclocks to 405.

They kind of suck because scaling and centering don't work even with DVI. I was hoping they'd actually work with HDMI; instead, neither work now.

They also don't emulate dithering despite having 3dvision profiles for 11 year old classics (e.g., PoP3D and Rayman 2) that are 16-bit color only. Fortunately, Rayman 2 is fixed with nglide, but damn, I cannot fucking wait until someone makes a DX5/6/7/8/9-->10.1 wrapper. 565 would become 8888, and maybe they could emulate the W-buffer or replace the 24 bit FX Z-buffer with an 32 bit FP Z-buffer. Or give an option between an emulated w-buffer and a 32 bit float z-buffer. Plus, all SM3.0 games would then work with driver-forced AA that way since they'd be running in DX10.1.

Did you do the custom install and check off the option to clean out any old drivers?

yes, the new installation menu is great. of course, I spent so much time working on custom game profiles that I didn't clean out the old drivers... guess I'll save that as a backup in case I have problems.
