I've been out of the Nvidia scene for, well, since my 9800Pro and am looking back towards Nvidia :) I'm soo lost with all the marketing name schemes i (shame on them) ...I am interested in their latest and greatest card. I know they have a new core but am still lost when it comes to their marketing of them. I am not interested in older cards that come close to the newest I am looking for their latest and greatest, thank you for your help : )

Cheers,

In terms of raw, unadulterated stock power, it'd be the 8800 Ultra.

In terms of best price-to-performance value and best bang for your buck, get the 8800GT, whose MSRP is around $250 and gets you around 80-90% of the performance of an Ultra, I'd say. It comes with a pretty bad single-slot stock cooler, though, but fan settings in RivaTuner could remedy that. If that doesn't sound good, then look towards the 8800GTS 512MB version (not the 320MB or the 640MB versions: those are old and outdated) which sports a better stock, dual-slot cooler for around $300-320.

In all honesty, if you want the best bang for your buck, get the 8800GT.

The G92 is the new 65nm core, don't look towards older, G80-based cards as they run hotter and take up more power (90nm). The G92s will be found in the 8800GT and the 8800GTS 512MB.
