Bought a Chaintech nForce4 Ultra board the other day and it's working fine except for Active Armor / Firewall / nVidia Network Access Management. It works fine for all user accounts except for mine. There are 4 users + Guest, and they all have administrator / power user privelages.

It's weird, for the account that doesn't work I can still use IM / FTP / internet programs but no browsers like Firefox or IE.

When I try to visit a URL in either browser nothing happens, you don't even get an, "Error domain not found" page. Sometimes if I click on a link opened through Thunderbird or Trillian it will work, sometimes.

However, all other users (including the guest account) can browse the web just fine with either browser. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling to no avail. What's wrong with my account?

it's just a NIC. If it works, it works, thats it. Don't blame hardware. HW just send and receive packets. If it does work with FTP/IM etc then integratec NIC has no problems.
software is another story. See, if you have multiple firewall software? Maybe one software blocks the other.
I use Win XP SP2 integrated firewall and really, there's no need for another software, windows firewall does just fine.

I think there more trouble with internet or network settings. Check Control Panel->Interent options->Connections-> Lan setting, wheter your Proxy settings are OK (some ISP-s require the use of proxy server, but some don't have one).
Then check CP->Network Settings->Local Area Connection Properties->TCP/IP properties wheter IPs are assigned automatically (90% users use automatic conf) or are your name servers correct.
And if it still doesn't work, contact your local ISP support (if it has one).

I work for Local cable ISP and my experiences are: if LINK is OK, then 99 out of 100 problems are software based (drivers, network config, wrongly configured firewalls etc)
