Some interesting things to note from this highly predictable act...

1. Both Intel and Nvidia (and AMD for that matter) strongly believe that a GPU/CPU combo is what's in store for the future of computing.

2. Nvidia is making the same claim that AMD is about Intel's responses...

"In its counterclaim, filed on Thursday, Nvidia said Intel has attempted to steer customers away from Nvidia products for months by claiming there was a licensing dispute. By officially disavowing the licensing pact through its lawsuit, Intel has breached the contract, Nvidia said"

That's almost verbatim to AMD's recent claims about Intel's actions on the AMD/Intel cross-license agreement.

I had honestly thought this was done weeks ago, had no idea they took such sweet time to file.

If its true of what Intel is purported to have been doing then its no surprise that both AMD and NV found themselves in the position of filing similar complaints as its unlikely Intel would exhibit the behavior towards only just one or the other's clients.

Actually, the best time was the beginning of this month...AMD is up ~75% from the first week of March.

My guess is that this is a legal theory developed by AMD's legal team, and NV saw it and decided that it was a good enough theory to jump on the bandwagon. Will the Judge (or Arbitration Master) see it the same way? My own opinion is that it's a coin toss...but a coin toss is pretty good for a legal team. :)
