nvidia drivers

can someone recommend the best drivers to use with a 6800. I know this is a broad question, but Im just trying to get some ideas on which ones to use.

latest ones. always run the latest.. I do on every nvidia card i own.. has the latest fixes..

esp with a newer card like the gf6

Whatever is on nvidia's site, 66.93? Thats why nvidia SUCKS, they have so many drivers floating around.

Uh, ATi releases drivers far more often than Nvidia - nvidia just distributes builds to partners more often. What sucks about it? This is like saying a store sucks because they give you too much to choose from.

I myself like the 71.20 betas best of late. I find the interface to be very friendly.

yeah me too, i have the ones tweaked by valance studios

latest on the site.... been using the 66.93 with any nVidia card I have lately, (work & home) always work fine... from gf4 mx420 to my 6800GT, those drivers are OK.

What exactly is great about these Valence drivers? I tried Omega's a while back, they weren't impressive. Got any concrete evidence that Valence drivers improve IQ or performance?

With the Valence, my FPS soared and it seemed as though I could slap on some AA and AF without it hurting performance (nearly at all) in CS:S and Doom 3. Plus everything does look very nice.

I still have the .7z of the 71.20's hosted on my webspace. If anyone would like to try them, send me a PM please.

i wouldn't recommend the 7x.xx'es if you play HL2 or CSS. 3 bugs that need fixing. im just using nvidia's 66.93's because there isn't a big difference in performance other then benchmarks, and they are stable. i have to admit, i diffenately do like the 7x.xx'es interface better though. ill wait till they release an official version though.

71.20 have no issues at all, at least XVG modded ones.

funny, i installed them and had the de_aztec white spots everywhere 😱
used driver cleaner also

Well i have all the links you could possibly want up in the Drivers thread. Valence studios sight is down for remodeling so they ask that everyone get their drivers from Guru3d.

Well i would work backwards personally. I am running the 71.20b from Valence and i haven't had a problem yet! However if you have problems i would roll back to the 67.03 and then to the 66.93 and finally the 66.81.

ATI releases more official drivers than Nvidia but Nvidia always has a slew of beta drivers.
