I tried installing the newest nvidia driver, and when windows reboots from the install.. As soon as the driver actually loads.. right before windows actually comes up.. The monitor turns black, then goes into standby..
via chipset mainboard, and a geforce 4 ti4400

anyone know whats wrong? thanks

upgrade. I've deleted all files manually, and with uninstall.
I have also tried different driver versions from the nvidia archive.

It`s always best to remove old drivers first by going to Control Panel and removing Nvidia driver software then rebooting before installing new drivers, you can try downloading Driver Cleaner 1.1 from here and follow the instructions, this should hopefully fix your problem.
The 43.45 are DX9 drivers so having DX9.0a installed would be a vey good idea as well.

Btw anti-virus software should be disabled before install of drivers.
