nVidia driver size question

Lonyo

Lifer
How come the release drivers seem to be 18MB or so, but quite a lot of the betas are only <10MB. Do the official drivers have a load of extra stuff with them?

If so, is it useful/needed? I don't want to do a freaking 18.8MB download of the 44.03's on a 56k modem if I can download some 9MB beta drivers (44.65) that have all the same stuff and might be better in terms of performance/other stuff.

Why do nVidia have such big drivers on their site when betas are so small. And do I really care about their Unified Driver Architecture when their driver packages are so freaking big?!

I wish I had an ATi card.

(I have a Ti 4400 @ 300/600 using the 41.09's at the moment).

the reason they are so huge is not becuase of unified drivers, it is because of multi language versus english only. btw, most betas do support all nvidia cards, even tho they are smaller and i use that beta driver, i can tell no differance from it or the 44.03. the size is strickly becuase of the languages supported.
how about these?

and i hate to break it to you, but atis drivers/control panel are larger than nvidias english only drivers.
