NVIDIA chips.. massive reports of failures.. no information from Nvidia?

At work, we bought a lot of Dell D820 laptops only to have them intermittently crash at random. I spent so many hours with Dell tech support.. it was ridiculous. After a bunch of bios updates, they seem to run stable - but slow as hell and they drain the battery in 40 minutes. Apparently they have an Nvidia chipset and graphics..

At home, I had an Nvidia 650i-based motherboard that was extremely unstable. So, I replaced it with an Asus P5N32E-SLI (680i) motherboard. It was increasingly unstable until I had to RMA it this week - it was crashing at stock speeds if I put more than one piece of ram in it.

Has anyone else here had problems with Nvidia chips? I cannot believe there is no recall yet..

my 570SLI has been running fine for 2 months now and my 9600GSO has been perfect as well.

At work my two test rigs both have 680i chipsets and my work computer has an NForce 4 chipset (making it several years old). They all work fine. (One of my two Acer monitors is a different story!)

Doesn't mean I haven't encountered failed hardware, but I've seen every brand of chipset fail. If it is a computer part, I've probably encountered a failed one.
