I'm still lucky too. The 2nd system is what my younger son (I have 2 boys) plays BG3 with me on when he visits. That son graduates high school in May. I am an old man. 😉Lucky kids! What more do you need than playing games all day together!
They should either:Dropping 32-bit physx support is completely unacceptable

You know I appreciate you 😉 In all seriousness, this is how it should be! Tech going the otherway has to be sign of some really funky market/economic conditions.Prices right now are stupid. Used 4070 Super FE selling for $850+ on eBay.
I paid $600 for one only a few months ago. I should sell it but I cannot in good conscience ever sell a GPU I have used for more than I paid for it.
Knowing Nvidia’s history of never wanting to admit fault (e.g. bumpgate), I wonder if they’ll just update the official 5090 specs on their website to show the reduced ROPS rather than work with those affected to get them replacement cards…It gets much worse

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Cards Spotted with Missing ROPs, NVIDIA Confirms the Issue, Multiple Vendors Affected
TechPowerUp has discovered that there are NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards in retail circulation that come with too few render units, which lowers performance. Zotac's GeForce RTX 5090 Solid comes with fewer ROPs than it should—168 are enabled, instead of the 176 that are part of the RTX...www.techpowerup.com

It's objectively worse to launch a product where a few cards melt than where a few cards don't meet spec, but it's probably more understandable. There's no way a batch of chips with non-functional ROPs should have even made it past parametric testing and gotten assembled onto PCBs. That should have been caught in automated testing, and that it wasn't seems to indicate either a huge failure in testing, a failure in inventory management, or just not giving a crap.View attachment 117786
I completely disagree with this take. By way of comparison, 5% lower performance is much more acceptable than faulty design of power delivery. We can argue the ROP situation is also too much, but it's definitely not as severe as non-zero chance to burn your cable and connectors.
They managed to resurrect 3.5GB for no reason. It gets much worse

Boycotts never work. It's time to boycott GPUs more so whole 5xxx gen, demand 20% price cut under msrp and fixing the broken 12pin on 5090

I kinda admire this at this point.
I will offer an alternative hypothesis: I wrote back in 2020 DIY/retail better get used to being last in line. Everything these IHVs do now convinces me that's the case. AMD gives us surprised Pikachu over 9800X3D availability. But you can buy any number of prebuilts using it at any time. Making it look more like an allocation issue with S.I.s getting preference over retail. This is far from a bad architecture, this goes beyond that. Broken software, buggy drivers, hardware issues and no communication.
Sounds like a company that is weakening in terms of quality
Only on OLED...now black screens
Class Action lawsuit, that's what it is, well, it could have been had they sold enough of them to get 40 members to get it certified...Not only is getting a card a lottery, but getting the actual paper spec is a lottery.
